Marcel Hossa has avoided arbitration and signed a deal with the Rangers. Still waiting on the Avery decision...Hossa had a strong couple of weeks on Jagr's line before he hurt his knee. I don't see him getting an opportunity there again, but then again - that's why they're called "dark horses".

Buffalo rearguard Nathan Paetsch has signed a three-year deal and avoided arbitration. Paetsch will take on much bigger role this season and could surprise with his strong production.
Trent Hunter is close to signing a deal prior to his Wednesday arbitration hearing. Teams are learning...
Josh Green has signed to play in Austria next season.
Dallas has signed defenseman Vadim Khomitski to a one-year, one-way deal. Although he put up seven points in nine games for Iowa last season and his RSL numbers are respectable, he is more of a two-way rearguard who will top out in the mid-thirties (at best) in the NHL.
Enver Lisin is starting to be pressured by his Russian club to make a decision as to his intentions for next year.
