See a quick example of everything in action - why I guarantee that you will need this (because if your competitor has it, you're toast).
For $8.99 per year (works out to 0.83 cents/month, or less than three cents per day) you get all of these tools at your fingertips. Or combine it with a Goalie Post membership and it works out to $8.09/year. You can also get different sets of tools for $3.99 each (for a year) - you don't have to have all of them, maybe you only want the "line combos" package, or the "management tools" package. See the shop for more details on the different packages.
Why are we going to pay now? I'll explain...
Those of you who read my ramblings frequently knew this was coming two years ago. We wanted to move to pay last year, but things were crazy timewise - for example, creator Jason Arbuthnot got married.
Well now we've moved that section to a pay section. I apologize to those who were caught off guard. This tool is fantastic and is used industry-wide by newspaper journalists, television reporters and leading bloggers...
"The Frozen Pool line combo tracker is like having a league's worth of scouts at your fingertips - just another reason why the information and analysis from Frozen Pool is some of the best in the business. Inherently, I suck at fantasy hockey. Frozen Pool gives me a chance to win. Or, at the very least, suck less." - Greg Wyshynski, Yahoo! Puck Daddy "Frozen Pool’s line combinations are top shelf and an outstanding resource for anyone looking to gain a competitive edge in fantasy hockey." - Scott Cullen, TSN.ca
"A one-of-a-kind resource that I turn to every week for insight into who's playing with who in every situation." - James Mirtle, Globe Sports
And as Tweeted by Jon Press from JapersRink.com:
This has been free for five years, but now it's time to give Jason a little something for 1000+ hours of his time. Now dig out some change from the back of your couch and BUY IT HERE for immediate access!

... Hey Dobber, I scrolled on pretty much all the comments, and can't seem to find this answer: Will there be a package next year that would include the guides and this part of the website too? I'd pay an extra for the line combos and everything when buying the guides, but am too lazy to pull out my credit card twice...hehe By the way, the only reason I think that there has been so much bad comments about this $$$ issue is that pretty much everybody was sure that those line combos and other tools were part of Dobberhockey.com, not frozenpool, anyway I know I did. Keep the good work tho! and thx for all tips! |

Doh Forgot you guys started charging for this feature, excellent feature too.... out of curiosity is it US or Canadian dollars we're talking here? either way my Aussie dollar is apparently superior to both making this great feature even cheaper at today's rate! |

lcbtd if you read my post you will see that i presented a solution that is well suited for everyone. i respect 100% getting paid for work and i understand business and customer retention / service fundamentals. i have worked in online marketing and internet monetization for a long time and i feel that there is a time and place for certain initiatives. to jason / dobber stay competitive and keep your stuff free and make your money through smart and educated monetization of your websites. |

Free / Pay / Shut the hell up For all those whining about having to pay for somebody else's sweat - please, for the love of god, shut the hell up. Just because it was once free doesn't indenture Dobber or Jason to you for life. If Jason wants to charge for his work, then so be it. Hell, if Dobber wants to charge for his ramblings (though he said he never will, I'd pay for those too!), then that's his right. If you don't like it, then go do your own legwork. Maybe start up your own site. Post a link so I don't have to pay Jason and I'll just use your hard work to earn fantasy hockey success! Until you do that (and realize the work these guys put in), then maybe stop complaining, enjoy the free content Dobber already provides and be happy with that. Sheesh! |

boo boo, these tools have been free for ages why charge now... cant you find another way to monetize your site? what attracted me here in the first place was the tools frozen pool provided not just the articles... are you going to charge to read the articles soon too? what if facebook slapped on a membership fee? oh no wait they will never do that because 99% of their revenue comes from advertising not memberships. |

... Few times a month*. Freudian slip, maybe? And I don't even use it for fantasy leagues. I use it for hockey discussion about various players. Also, I'd be curious how the application actually acquires/complies the data. |

Not cool.... As someone who used this feature sometimes but not very often, this is crap. The line combos/production tools were extremely useful but as I only used them a few times a money, paying for it is ridiculous. There needs to be some sort of middle ground. Find a way to work it so that you can use it a certain amount of times per day/week/month but if you want to use it regularly or more extensively you can then have a subscription account. |

... I can't seem to find anything on the site that does what I was talking about. I drafted Bryz so now I need to know what teams play on PHI off nights the most, can someone tell me where in the members area this is? |

Hmmm I don't know if I like what I would be paying for tho. I would basically be paying for someone that is able to get this information from somewhere else and then convert it to a different format on a website. Doesn't seem like I should have to pay the "middle man" for things I could easily do on my own if I only knew where the data came from. |

Frozen Pool Take it from someone who has spent WAY too much time on fantasy hockey over the past few years, this tool is awesome. The last 3 games option(for adding FA or to determine who to sit etc..), the compare a player option, along with all the others are so worth the small price for what they do. Honestly, if you're just touch and go with your pools, maybe you don't need it yet but for someone who enjoys their pools and puts in a bit of time, you really shouldn't go without this thing. Fantasy hockey is becoming a big business and the demand for all things related is huge. I've searched the internet for years now and from what I found, Dobber and his staff have stepped up more than anyone...by a long shot. I mean, all summer there were great articles to read. That's commitment. Another thing, for anyone who has used this tool over the years, I'm sure they'll have no problem paying for it now, especially considering we've been using it for free for so long. @JF Houle I know where you're coming from. It's really hard to grasp the cost sometimes, especially when you're not aware of just how valuable the product is or if you're simply not clear on how all of these moving parts come together. |

Seriously. It's not two completely independent sites. You have overlaping content between packages. For example, if you subscribe to the Goalie Post you get "Premium Rankings: Access Dobber’s Top-50 Fantasy" which I already have with my 30 bucks package. |

... Does this tool tell me which goalies play on different nights the most often? I am about to start a draft where you can only dress one goalie/night and I'd definitely pay $10 to not have to figure that out manually. Anyone have any resources for that type of thing?(end thread hijack) |

Come on people. While it does suck to have to pay for something that was absolutely free....it is a great tool and well worth $9.99 for the year. Add that to the fact that Jason is a very nice guy...after speaking with me about my pool he was nice enough to change the stats to show full names instead of just last names...fine, not that big a deal, but he could have said too bad. For that reason alone, I'd pay for his site. Plus, I actually used the line combo tracker quite a few times last year. |
