![]() In the August 2011 edition, we peek behind the curtain of the mystical projection. How do prognosticators come up with their numbers? And what are some of their fantasy projections for the 2011-12 NHL season?
First, we speak to Hockey Prospectus' Tom Awad, creator of the VUKOTA projection system. He explains his formula and gives us a sneak peek at how VUKOTA has rated some familiar NHLers' potential output for the upcoming year.
Afterwards, DobberHockey's own Ryan Ma talks about the most important factors in his projections, and takes us through what he's expecting from the a couple Western Conference teams and a bucketload of players. He also chimes in with his Western sleepers, and the players that he might be avoiding at all costs come draft day (including one surprising Anaheim Duck).
Enjoy the DobberNation podcast, hosted by Brian Kom, on the 25th of each month.
