Evgeny Artyukhin has signed to play another year in Russia. Just for those of you who needed a third-line player with 40-point upside...because there aren't many of those...
Just a quick reminder - in the "other" section of the forum there is a thread where you can suggest/request a poll. It's a great way to get a handle on what the majority of poolies out there feel about a certain player vs. another player.
Detroit is finally going to bench Kyle Calder. Tomas Kopecky will draw into the lineup while Calder watches from the press box. Kopecky had missed much of the season with a broken clavicle.
Philadelphia signed Ben Eager to a two-year deal. He will again lead the league in penalty minutes.
The Wild signed their 2005 second-round pick Matt Kassian to a two-year entry level deal. Kassian does one thing: fight.
Andrei Markov's knee injury is not serious and will not require surgery, however contract talks will be put on hold until the Habs medical staff can give their own opinion - they don't trust the word of Markov's agent...can't say I blame them.
