Fantasy Analysis: Buffalo acquires Raffi Torres from the Blue Jackets for Nathan Paetsch and a second-round draft pick.
The Sabres get: a gritty, hard-hitting forward who scores clutch goals. Columbus gets: an under-acheiving offensive d-man, but a nice draft pick. Fantasy Players Impacted: Paetsch never really got a chance to get out of his funk, but at one time I figured he could be a 40-point, 100+ PIM player. If Columbus gives him that chance, it could eat into the ice/PP time of Anton Stralman and the PP time of Fedor Tyutin.
Raffi Torres could push the likes of Clarke MacArthur to the press box and ensures that Nate Gerbe remains in the AHL for the season. Players this deal helps, in order: 1. Nathan Paetsch Players this deal hurts, in order: 1. Clarke MacArthur (update - he was dealt to Atlanta, so his value changes yet again) 2. Anton Stralman 3. Nate Gerbe
