Buffalo has traded a fourth round draft pick to the Coyotes for goaltender Mikael Tellqvist.
The Sabres get: a streaky goaltender who is one of the better backups in the league and who can be a solid starter for stretches that last as long as three or four weeks. Perfect for them. Tellqvist will start more than Lalime going forward, until Ryan Miller returns.
The Coyotes get: a fourth round pick for an expendable player. Expendable? See below.
Fantasy players impacted: Josh Tjordman has been nothing short of spectacular over the last two years, coming from out of nowhere onto the scene. The Coyotes no doubt feel he is ready to become a full-time NHL backup. His value moves up even further. Al Montoya is next in line after him, so the team is still quite deep in that position.
Lalime's value drops back down and Jhonas Enroth will head back to the AHL.
