Toronto has claimed goaltender Martin Gerber off of re-entry waivers from the Senators and defenseman Eric Reitz off of the wire from the Rangers.
*Update - Vesa Toskala is OUT FOR THE SEASON (surgery on groin)
The Leafs get: a good backup goaltender with occasional teases of starter potential in Gerber. In Reitz, they acquire a solid power-play quarterback at the AHL level, but is looking like a fringe NHL player.
Fantasy players impacted: I still think Justin Pogge will find a way to be a backup next season.

The acquisition of Reitz makes it even easier to move a defenseman (Ian White?), although with Anton Stralman waiting in the wings it wasn't overly necessary. There is a tiny chance that this move could surprise - much like grabbing Dominic Moore off of waivers has surprised - but playing the odds, chances are Reitz will be a bust.
