There were not a lot of teams out there where Vrbata could have built on his great season last year, but this is one of them. The Lightning need a scoring winger to match with Steven Stamkos and in Vrbata they have one. Now TB can ice a multi-dimensional offense. Think Lecavalier with Prospal/Malone and St.Louis, followed by Stamkos with Malone/Prospal and Vrbata. Jussi Jokinen is now pushed down to the third line, but his work ethic and skill should keep him around the 50-point range with upside.

The deal was for three years and $9 million
