Ales Hemsky will miss tonight's contest against Anaheim with a leg contusion. This opens up a lot of ice time for the likes of Robert Nilsson.

Dick Tarnstrom (concussion) has been placed on injured reserve.

Jason Labarara left yesterday's contest when he sustained a rib injury. No word on if he will be out for any length of time.

I am really struggling with the rankings - I could only get up the top 50 defensemen and the top 40 fantasy players. If I try any more than that, I get an error message. Anyone out there who knows Joomla very well and would like to help, email me at dobber (at) dobberhockey. com

Fernando Pisani will be in the lineup tonight for the Oilers, making his season debut. He's a 50-point guy at best and I doubt he'll crack 35 this season.

With three points in his last 12 games, Jeff Hamilton was made a healthy scratch last night.

Stephen Weiss missed last night's contest with possible concussion symptoms. He took a hit on Thursday. The Panthers are saying that it is not a concussion and that he could be back next week. Anthony Stewart was recalled as a result.

Andrew Brunette left yesterday's game early with the flu.

TJ Hensick played just over 15 minutes last night, received time on the second PP unit, and scored a goal. He is proving that he belongs.

Joe Sakic missed the game with a sore groin, his first missed game in three years.

Flyers' plugger Riley Cote received a game misconduct for elbowing Stars' rearguard Matt Niskanen in the head and he will likely be suspended, becoming the fifth Flyer to make such a claim this season.

Paul Mara missed yesterday's game with a sprained shoulder and will likely miss the next week to 10 days. Marek Malik drew back into the lineup last night as a result.

Alexei Ponikarovsky (leg) was back in the lineup last night and picked up two points and played 13:39. John Pohl was a healthy scratch.

Radim Vrbata missed yesterday's game with a groin injury. He is day-to-day. Bill Thomas was recalled as a last minute replacement.

Clarke MacArthur was sent down to Rochester yesterday as Adam Mair returned to the lineup.

Dmitri Kalinen, out for the last month with an ankle injury, was back skating for the first time yesterday.

Mike Cammalleri (groin) was back in the Los Angeles lineup last night. He played 19:59 and was a minus-3.

Patrick O'Sullivan played 20:16 last night, second on the team among forwards. He had two assists, so perhaps he's turned a corner. Watch him.

Ladislav Nagy has been pointless in eight games.

Martin Gerber has a 4.52 GAA and a .856 SV% in the last six games and says he is "not as confident" as he was earlier this season. Time to bench Gerber until he pulls out of this funk. This is Emery's chance to steal the job back. (People laughed at me when I boldly stated neither Ottawa goalie will get 30 wins this year - even just last week I said that).

Erik Johnson was a healthy scratch last night as Steve Wagner drew back in. Wagner was pointless and played just under 16 minutes.

Marc Savard has 16 points during his current nine-game point streak.

Manny Fernandez's back problems are due to a herniated disc. He may be out for a little while yet, but the Bruins aren't saying.

Chris Mason stopped just four of six shots last night before getting the hook. He was playing with the flu though, so don't be down on him for that start.

Alexander Radulov played a fantastic game, but still got just 16:08 of ice time. He picked up two assists.

Wes Walz announced his retirement yesterday.

Kris Beech picked up two points last night after getting into the lineup due to Manny Malhotra's knee injury. Beech is a streaky NHL producer and should get a look in very deep pools.

Both Marcus Nilson (concussion) and Adrian Aucoin (shoulder) were back in the Calgary lineup last night.

Dustin Byfuglien played 21:53 last night, second to Duncan Keith. He saw 2:11 on the PP, which was the top unit. He picked up an assist. Roto leagues should pick him up and activate him and ride this hot streak.

Michel Ouellet played just 5:48 last night and was nearly a healthy scratch. He is extremely streaky, this is just the downside of that streakiness.

The Oilers recalled Patrick Thoresen from the AHL.

Zach Parise has 13 points in his last six games. His hot play has turned Gionta's game around. Gionta has 10 points in that span.

Tobias Enstrom has eight points in his last eight contests.

Dany Sabourin is just 1-3 in his last four while Fleury has won two in a row, including a shutout.

Colby Armstrong has six points in four games since lining up with Crosby.
