Henrik Sedin on Daniel's strong season: "If I had myself passing to me I'd have 24 goals too."

Saturday picks will be posted within the hour.

Ben Eager suspended four games for a gutless sucker punch on Colby Armstrong.

Jiri Hudler had a helper last night, and he now has points in four out of his past six games (six points total).

Anton Babchuk had a goal and two helpers for the Flames. He's on pace for over 10 goals and 30 points. He'll see steady PP time down the stretch with Calgary.

Pick up the 2010-11 Midseason Guide here!

Great news for all hockey fans – the NHL and HBO are destined to work together again in the future after such a positive outcome from the Winter Classic 24/7 special.

Toronto won 9-3 last night. Brett Lebda finished minus-3. Figure that one out.

The Leafs scored all nine of their goals in a row. It was a combination of offense, bad goaltending, and horrendous defense by Atlanta.

There were many Leafs with great stat lines – Grabovski had three points and seven shots on goal, Kulemin had four points and five shots on goal, and Kaberle had four assists.

Pat Kane scored for the Hawks last night. I’m looking for a huge second half from him as he shakes the rust off from his injury.

With Pascal Leclaire out (surprise), Ottawa has called up Robin Lehner to back up Elliott.

Zuccarello scored the shootout winner for the Rangers, and he has a fan in coach John Tortorella.

“"That's good stuff," Rangers coach John Tortorella said."No nerves, he just does his job, I think it's terrific."

Ryan McDonagh played 12 minutes and was pointless in his debut.

Brad Richards was pointless for only the third time in his last 10 games.

The assist machine known as Brian Rafalski knows how to score in style – he scored his first and second goals of the season last night against Calgary.

Henrik Sedin had three helpers last night – he now has 10 more than any other player in the league.

Jeff Skinner had two goals and a helper for the ‘Canes.

Hit Dirty, dirty, dirty. Amateur hockey players are taught to aim their hitting shoulder towards their opponents opposite shoulder. Why has this been lost in the NHL? I don't get it. Regardless of what Stuart was doing, clearly an elbow to the head.

Funny fact ALL of Jason LaBarbera's games played occured on AWAY games. Shouldn't Bryzgalov have better stats then, assuming teams play better at home?

Quite unusual if you ask me.

Head Shot
Looked like he was coming in high the whole way through, and Stuart was pretty much a motionless, standing tall target.

Whilst i don't condone the hit or the result Stuart was not a motionless target, he was playing the puck at the time or just after the hit.

THE HIT The fact that TK extended his arm and elbow upward at the moment of impact tells me he knew exactly where he was hitting Stuart, and that it was no accident. Slufoot is right. Could have hit him square in the chest and chose to go high instead. If there is any suspension, it probably will not come for a few days as CAL does not play again until Tuesday. Not that losing TK will negatively impact CAL as much as losing Stuart will DET. Wings are dropping like flies. Should be no problem for 'Nucks tonight.

Midseason Guide Just opened it up.

For % that players points increased or decreased...

it says 08-09 Inc.

Does that mean a two year average for 08-09/09-10?

... I used to own Phaneuf maybe 4 yrs ago? I traded him when I saw the Flames score about 13 goals in 2 games and he would get nothing. That happened often. Could never explain it but what has happened to him at this pt, is not a surprise to me. His offense has just disappeared.

Hit that hit was no different than Nash's hit on jason blake last night. Both hits should be suspendably IMO although this one looks worse because of the outcome to stuart's jaw.

I'd have to say Kostopoulos was aiming for Stuart's head on that one. Look at the motion of Kos' left shoulder and arm, at the point of contact and follow through.

Stuart hit Definite dirty hit. Had the chance to put the shoulder in his chest and chose instead to do a flybyand clip the head instead.

UK, you honestly think the follow through broke his jaw?

Dirty check?? Can't really tell from those shots but he certainly lined him up for the big hit. It looks like he took the upper part of the body and then, as Stuart started to lose balance and go over, the follow through hit the face.

I wouldn't say there was intent to break Stuarts jam (or injure per se) but there was certainly intent to rough him up.
