Correction below - Filpulla's deal was for five years, not three as I originally wrote.

The Sens have signed Antoine Vermette to a two-year deal worth $5.525 million

In a funny slap in the face to Leafs management, Scotty Bowman will be a Senior Advisor, Hockey Operations for the Chicago Blackhawks.  His son Stan is the assistant general manager for hockey operations.

Petr Nedved apparently has an invite to the Rangers training camp and he intends to go, saying that he will settle for fourth-line minutes if need be. Thanks to fzusher in the forum for digging this up.

Ilves.com reports that Geoff Platt has signed to play in Finland next season. Thanks to fzusher again for this.

Carolina has signed prospect Drayson Bowman to a three-year entry-level deal. Surprisingly, it was for a little under the max - considering that he is their best offensive prospect in their system. He probably will not make the team this year, but in 2009 it is a possibility. He is ranked 43rd on my fantasy prospects list.

The Jackets signed Pascal Leclaire to a three-year deal worth $11.4 million

The Wings have signed Valtteri Filppula to a five-year, $15 million contract. He should play with Hossa this season.

Nashville is reportedly interested in Mark Parrish.

Mike Van Ryn claims that his wrists are better than ever and that he is recovered from his ... four wrist surgeries (three on his right).

Dobber's Fantasy Hockey Guide 2008-09 will be available for instant download (if you purchase it) TOMORROW. Also available in French . This guide will be updated frequently throughout the summer, so you just log back in and download it again as needed.

There is a reason why everyone who bought this last year are buying it again this year!

If you haven't bought it yet, or you "split the cost" with a friend so you can save the big five bucks, keep this in mind: this website is free because of the income that I make from this very guide. It doesn't replace the salary that I made when I quit my day job in Nov/06, but it's close enough to keep this site top-notch (running it isn't free). I don't look for handouts - I want earn your money. So buy the guide - that's how I earn it! I will never give in to the pressure or suggestions that I should make this a pay site, and it is thanks to your support.

Dobber Nation has grown: DobberBaseball.com is up and running! If you haven't already, I invite you to have a look around, sign up to the baseball forum, and enjoy! Everyone keeps DobberHockey a secret from your fellow poolies... but if you're not in a baseball pool you can tell your baseball buddies about this new site at least!
