The July Edition of the Top 100 is updated with the impact of the free agent signings thus far. Also, in case you have been living under a rock enjoying the offseason, Greto Superstar from HockeyHotbed.com provides all the happenings from the opening twelve days of the NHL free agency.

In other news, the Black Aces crew via the Dobber Sports forum is looking for some fresh blood to fill in the seven open Team Coverage positions for the upcoming season. If interested, refer to the Eastern Conference and Western Conference sections via the forum and contact either Brandon Smith (a.k.a shakedown) or myself for more details.

The DobberHockey Banner showdown will reboot once more in the coming days. Like last year, there will be four separate elimination contests – forwards, defensemen, goalies and wildcard (best of the rest). The four winners will get slapped on the main page banner for the duration of the 2012-13 seasons.

Last week, Jeff Angus delivered a must read piece on Alexander Semin via his blog (Angus Certified).  It is a refreshing, and detailed, look at the positives that Semin brings to the game.

... Hey Brady,

Definitely a slip. You would think 50 goals deserved a little more credit! G and SOG should be in reversed spots.

Edited the master copy. Thanks for bringing it up!

... Quick question... How is Malkin an R3 in goal scoring, yet Claude Giroux, James Neal and Ryan Kesler are considered monsters in the same category?

Thanks
